William Connolley discusses a blog entry by Maurizio Morabito which attempts to prove that there was a ‘global cooling consensus’ during the 1960s. [cached]

I don’t see any great endorsement of a clear cooling trend there [in the 1961 UNESCO/WMO document]. I see what I expected (don’t you always?): uncertainty.

    Frank, a pair of submissions.

One I’m sure you’re aware of, as it’s a couple days old from Deltoid; titling it with a line from Marion, “Corporate shill struggles with inner hypocrite” has the right ring (although the original shows him to be a lot more sympathetic).

The other’s a lot more recent, courtesy of Yglesias: Comparative Think Tankery; I discovered it via Paul Krugman, as a followup to another gem (but that’s another story). The original Yglesias post sounds almost like an entry from the IJI itself, despite appearing on Think Progress!

    Brian D:

The original Yglesias post sounds almost like an entry from the IJI itself,

Hmm, I might have written something like that if I were in the think-tank world. Alas, I have yet to partake in any of the rumoured think-tank lunches. Oh well.

    🙂
